Battlefield 6 Season 5 — Siege of Las Vegas — is live today, October 13. Two new maps, a faster battle royale mode, four new weapons, and a Dead Space crossover headline what EA is calling the biggest season yet.
What's live today
The patch (update 2.1.1.0) dropped at 8:00 UTC with seasonal content activating at 12:00 UTC. Headliners:
Vegas Strip — street battles amid the casinos, neon signs, and high-rise hotels of Las Vegas Boulevard, including the iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign.
Area 51 — desert combat around the legendary secret base, with sprawling underground bunkers and large-scale tank battles.
Rapid Royale — a faster REDSEC battle royale variant with smaller player counts, shorter matches, and quick respawns on kills.
Ranked Battle Royale — the official ranked BR season begins, with redesigned insignia, leaderboards, and the REDSEC Open Series tournament.
Four new weapons — the Mk 24 assault rifle, RSPR personal defense weapon, Z84M belt-fed LMG (100-round mag), and ELR-40 sniper rifle.
The Dead Space crossover
From October 20 to November 7, the Convergence event brings Dead Space into Battlefield. 16-player PvE matches on the Area 51 map pit soldiers against infected Marked Soldiers, with environments inspired by the 2023 Dead Space remake. Rewards include the Aegis VII Soldier skin, RIG-Certified SMG Weapon Package, weapon stickers, soldier patches, and a player card background.
The full roadmap
Season 5 runs in three phases:
Phase 1 (Oct 13) — Vegas Strip, Area 51, Rapid Royale, Ranked BR.
Phase 2 (Nov 10) — European Casino, a close-quarters map with destructible environments.
Phase 3 (Dec 8) — Frozen Aces: freezing conditions hit Vegas, a new Operation spanning both maps, and the long-awaited server browser and platoons (as we reported last week).
Also: free access to all modes and maps on PlayStation and Steam from October 15–19.
KongMNG's take
Vegas, Area 51, and Dead Space in one season — EA isn't messing around. And with server browser and platoons landing December 8, this is shaping up to be the season that brings lapsed players back. See you on the Strip.
