Microsoft revealed the second October wave for Xbox Game Pass: nine games from October 8–16, headlined by Battlefield 6 on October 13. Three drop today.
The lineup
Here's everything coming, per Microsoft's announcement:
October 8 (today): Echo Weaver (Ultimate, PC) — a knowledge-based Metroidvania about mastering a time loop. Forever Ago (Ultimate, PC). Neon Abyss 2 (Ultimate, PC, Premium) — the roguelite run-'n'-gun sequel with four-player co-op, leaving Steam Early Access with a “Very Positive” rating.
October 13: Battlefield 6 (Ultimate, PC) — the big one. EA's flagship shooter lands day one on Game Pass. Deep Dish Dungeon (Ultimate, PC). Valor Mortis (Ultimate, PC) — an action soulslike launching day one into the service.
October 15: Bluey's Happy Snaps (Ultimate, PC). Chained Beasts (Ultimate, PC).
October 16: Beyond These Stars (PC only).
Why Battlefield 6 matters
Day-one Game Pass releases for AAA shooters are still rare enough to be news. Battlefield 6 arriving on the service at launch is Microsoft flexing the value proposition — especially with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launching at full price on October 23. For shooter fans, October is stacked.
Worth noting: Microsoft also recently announced that starting in November, Game Pass cloud gaming hours will be capped monthly, with extra time available for purchase. Something to keep in mind if you're primarily a cloud player.
Don't forget what's leaving
Eight games exit the service on October 15, including Pacific Drive, A Plague Tale: Requiem, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. We covered the full departure list separately — play those before they're gone.
KongMNG's take
Battlefield 6 day one on Game Pass is the kind of move that sells subscriptions by itself. Between this wave and the departures, October is a genuinely great month to be subscribed — just make sure you finish Clair Obscur before the 15th.
