October 8 brings the second wave of Nitemare quests, a refreshed Nitemare Island in Reload, and Stranger Things and Squid Grounds maps joining the rotation.
The second wave of Fortnitemares 2026 lands tomorrow, October 8 — and this one’s for the Reload players. After a first week built around Freddy Krueger, FNAF, and the Battle Royale island, the event’s second act spreads the haunting across every mode.
What’s landing tomorrow
The second batch of Nitemare quests goes live across Battle Royale, Zero Build, Horde Rush, and Reload. The headline is Reload’s refresh: an updated Nitemare Island with Elite Kado Thorne calling the shots under the “Kado’s Curse” theme, siphon loot galore that restores health as you deal damage, and a mix of horror weapons.
Reload’s map rotation also grows tomorrow — Stranger Things and Squid Grounds maps join the lineup, giving the mode its biggest variety shakeup of the event.
Free Jack-A-Nape outfit
Don’t sleep on the quests. Fortnitemares 2026 has 26 quests total across the event — finish all 26 and the Jack-A-Nape outfit is yours free, plus the rest of the set’s cosmetics as you progress. With wave 2 adding a fresh batch tomorrow, now’s the time to start grinding if you haven’t.
What we don’t know yet
Epic hasn’t pinned down the exact time the update lands tomorrow — content updates usually arrive in the morning ET — and the full wave-2 quest list isn’t public yet. We’ll update this story as the details go live.
Still to come in October
Reports point to a second major update around October 15, including an Obsession collab and more — but that’s datamine territory, not Epic-confirmed. We’ll cover it when it’s official. The event runs through November 1, so there’s plenty of haunting left.
