PlayStation Spain jumped the gun and listed the God of War Laufey Collector Box early: £129.99 / €149.99 for a statue, a card deck, and an artbook. The game? Sold separately.

What's in the box

Per the PlayStation Direct listing:
Light-up Faye statue — resin statue of Faye (Kratos's wife, the game's protagonist) with her companions Phranque and Rue.
51-card Oracle Deck — bespoke illustrations inspired by Faye's journey.
Mini artbook — concept art curated by the dev team.
Limited to one box per person. And to be clear: no physical disc, no download code.

The math

The game itself launches February 16, 2027 as a PS5 exclusive — $69.99 standard, $79.99 digital deluxe. So the full “collector's experience” runs you roughly $200+ before you've played a minute. It's the same playbook Rockstar used with GTA 6's $400 collector's box (also game-free).

Why they do it

Publishers figured out they can charge full price twice: once for the merch, once for the software. No game in the box means simpler logistics, no regional rating headaches on discs, and higher margins. The superfans pay; everyone else just buys the game.

KongMNG's take

A “collector's edition” without the thing you're collecting is just a merch box with a fancy name. The statue looks great, but $130 before you've bought the game is a tough sell.
